Can you take a better shot?

Many of you interested in the The Oman World Fireworks Championship in Al Qurum Park will have taken your own photos of fireworks displays, and we want to see your photography skills.

Post a link to an image sharing site (such as Flikr or imgur) showing the best picture you’ve taken of a fireworks display, and you could be the winner of one of our limited edition Oman World Fireworks Championship 2010 Polo Shirts!

    My tips – use a bulb exposure so you can control exactly when the exposure both starts and stops.

    Don’t try and use the camera viewfinder/screen to compose the shot, once the display has started, make sure the camera is correctly set up, then look up in the sky and try and visualise the frame being ‘built up’ as shells explode. Of course a shutter release helps too!

    The unfavorable wind direction together with the unpredictable nature of Zambeli’s show, made photography very difficult that night. Anyhow I managed to took some photos from Zambeli’s display that a selection of them could be found here (Photos 78 to 106):
